In 1985 (and being 16 and into HI-FI), I used to see his advertisements in ETI, and longed to be able to afford to buy some of his SuperMos modules for myself. A couple of years later, I started a degree course in Electronic Engineering at the University of Sheffield, and completely forgot about Sage Audio and their SuperMos modules - it wasn't until approx. 2005 that I wondered what had happened to Les and Sage Audio (and working in the Pro Audio Industry as a designer, why hadn't I heard of him). So I started browsing the internet to see if Sage Audio still existed - sadly, I read on one of the forums that he had died in 1994, and that the company no longer existed. Furthermore, (and without any conclusive evidence) he was being called a fraud, and that all the claims he had made about the performance of his modules were false.

So, in 2005, I started a quest to find out the truth.
